Keen to turn a negative into a positive, we were proud to share the news that during the height of the pandemic, our client Fisher & Paykel’s MD David Woollcott instigated a start-up initiative called SaddleUp! The idea was to bring together a range of leading experts from big name firms such as BMW, Vodafone and Aldi to empower those who had been made redundant and needed some help focusing on the next step. Since its inception we have supported with pro bono PR spreading the word to our national and broadcast media contacts. The not-for-profit organisation has since gone on to help change the way that redundancy is viewed - coaching, consulting, supporting and mentoring employees so that they can stay energised and positive, ready to re-enter the market. The story has received extended slots on talkRadio, BBC WM Radio as well as an unbelievable ten minutes of coverage on Radio 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty Show. It also made headline news in The Sun while overnight, a LinkedIn post about the support available received over 70,000 hits.
